AT Leib-Husaren-Regiment Nr.1 (2017)

The ceremonial uniform of the Leib-Husaren-Regiment „Königin Viktoria von Preußen“ Nr. 1. The infamous Totenkopf Husaren are an elite light cavalry regiment of the Prussian Army which was created by the amalgamation of the historical 1. Leib-Husaren-Regiment Nr. 1 and 2. Leib-Husaren-Regiment „Königin Viktoria von Preußen“ Nr. 2 during the restructuring of the Heer in the 1960s. Today the regiment serves in the role of a light mechanized reconnaissance unit and it is equipped mainly with wheeled-transport. The regiment still keeps one squadron trained in horsemanship for ceremonial purposes but also due to the traditional cavalry's ability to traverse the terrain where vehicles cannot operate.
